Dr. Kevin J. Krizek is Professor of Environmental Design at the University of Colorado Boulder and former Senior Advisor in the Office of the Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment (U.S. Department of State). He analyzes urban settings, how services are accessed, and the role of government. His recent book carefully articulates a reformist urban transport planning agenda for cities grounded in accessibility, sustainability, and social justice. Other perspectives have been shared in his TED talk, nationally published essays (1, 2, 3) and his co-authored book, The End of Traffic and the Future of Transport. He’s been a visiting professor in the Netherlands and was awarded a U.S.-Italy Fulbright Scholarship. At the Department of State, Dr. Krizek advanced global infrastructure initiatives to spur clean energy form, digital security and smart cities.

Tila Duhaime practiced intellectual property law in New York City before pivoting to community organizing and advocacy work for transit and vulnerable road users, with particular focus on school-aged children and cyclists. Over the past 17 years she has worked with various transportation nonprofits on safer road and urban design strategy, and served on numerous governmental advisory boards to advance these efforts. She lives in Boulder, Colorado and cycles extensively with her husband and son.

Lori Carden brings a background in public health, social behavior, and urban planning to her work coordinating teams, timelines, and project deliverables. A graduate of the University of Arizona, she has supported faculty-led research, collaborated with city staff and student contributors, and helped shape communications across platforms. Her experience spans nonprofit grant management, real estate, and education—threaded together by a consistent focus on clarity, alignment, and purposeful momentum. She lives in Boulder, Colorado, and finds perspective on quiet trails, long drives and time spent outdoors.
